This 28-page booklet includes illustrations and complete directions telling you everything you need to know to get started. Materials needed, frames, how to stretch your rug on the frame, how to punch, how to hem your rug, rug care, and other key topics are all discussed.
The Oxford Punch Needle comes in two different widths (Regular and Fine) with the different sizes listed below.

#10 Regular works great with many different weights of yarn. Smaller weights can be double or tripled. You can also use Worsted weight, Aran Weight, Chunky and Rug Weight, as well as cut strips of wool fabric.

Choosing the right size?
It depends on what you are wanting to make. The #10 Regular is usually recommended for beginners because of how versatile and easy it is to use. You can use a chunky yarn to make a sturdy piece or you can use multiple strands of yarn to create different effects. The length of the needle determines the loop as previously described in the information on oxford punch needles. If you plan to use the flat edge, you do not want a longer needle that would use more yarn. You would want to use the #10. if you are planning to make a rug for the floor, the #9 Regular is recommended as the longer loop will make your rug more durable and wear better over time.
You can also cover a larger area more quickly with the Regular Punch Needle but it does not do fine detail as well as the Fine.
